Amy Feinberg is a freelance director, producer and master teacher who has taught and premiered new plays around the country. She has recently moved to the Denver area and continues to create and mentor new work with theatre companies and organizations locally and nationally. Amy headed the Directing PlaywritIng and Production program at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia (2004-2012) and was the Producing Artistic Director of the Hypothetical Theatre Company in NYC for over 20 years. In New York, she directed dozens of world and NY premiere productions of playwrights such as Michael Weller, Jeffrey Sweet, Melanie Marnich, Don Nigro, Ari Roth, Jennifer Maisel, Lisa Dillman and many others. For the National Park Service, Amy wrote, directed and produced ELLIS ISLAND STORIES which was in residence at Ellis Island 1992-2000 and now tours nationally to schools and festivals throughout the region. She has premiered productions in Chicago, Philadelphia, Portland, Milwaukee, Atlanta, and Denver. She holds an MFA in Directing from Northern Illinois University, is a proud member of the Lincoln Center Director's Lab, the Actors Equity Association, the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers. Ms Feinberg has been awarded and cited for her directing and teaching by the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, The Association of Theatre in Higher Education, and the Educational Theatre Association.
